The SANDVIK COROMANT 5727593 is a steel indexable boring bar in the T-Max P series, designed for internal boring and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a 1-inch shank diameter and a 12-inch overall length, with a minimum bore diameter of 1.2992 inches (33 mm). The toolholder style is A-DWLN with a right-hand cut orientation. Insert clamping is accomplished through a wedge-type holding method, which delivers rigid, repeatable seating under interrupted and continuous cutting conditions. A negative rake angle of -6 degrees and a -6-degree lead angle position this bar for stable performance in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control at the cutting edge.
This boring bar is suited for medium-to-large-bore internal turning work in both production and job-shop environments. The 12-inch overall length accommodates deeper bore reach requirements where shorter bars cannot maintain tool clearance. The 1-inch steel shank provides the rigidity needed for tight-tolerance finish boring passes. Multi-use capability allows the same holder to serve boring and turning applications, reducing tooling inventory. The bar accepts a single WNMG 332 insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a common insert geometry found across a wide range of general-purpose turning grades. A center-to-cutting-edge dimension of 0.75 inches (3/4 inch) gives setup technicians a defined offset reference for programming tool nose compensation on CNC controls.
Designed to accept WNMG 332 inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with A-DWLN toolholder-style setups in the T-Max P series. Verify machine turret bore and shank clearance requirements before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the boring bar from the turret. Secure the shank to the specified clamping torque recommended by the machine tool manufacturer for the turret style in use. Confirm tool offset and nose-radius compensation values are entered correctly in the CNC control before running the first pass.
