The SANDVIK COROMANT 5727532 is a modular turning profiling head engineered for internal turning and profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the T-Max P series, this head mounts via a C4 modular connection and accepts CNMG 120408 inserts secured by a wedge clamping method. The head projects 50 mm (1.9685 inches) from the connection face and positions the cutting edge 27 mm (1.063 inches) from centerline. A through-coolant channel delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert tip, helping manage heat and chip evacuation in deep-bore applications. The right-hand cutting direction and negative rake geometry (-6 degrees axial, -6 degrees radial) suit medium-to-heavy roughing and finishing passes in steel and cast iron.
This profiling head is intended for internal turning in bores with a minimum hole diameter of 110 mm (4.331 inches) and a maximum usable hole depth of 50 mm (1.9685 inches). It is suited for production environments where quick head changes are required without disturbing the machine setup. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists typically deploy this component on multi-turret or gang-tooled lathes running moderate-to-high cutting speeds on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The C4 system size makes it compatible with standard C4 modular toolholders and adapters used across a range of machine tool builders.
Accepts CNMG 120408 inserts. Designed for use with C4 modular turning system toolholders and adapters. Specific machine compatibility depends on the turret or spindle adapter in use; verify C4 interface availability on the target machine before ordering.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling specialist. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the head. Verify the C4 interface mating surfaces are clean and free of chips or coolant residue before torquing the head connection to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm through-coolant passages are clear and that the machine coolant pressure is compatible with the tooling system before running.
