The SANDVIK COROMANT 5726062 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 111 series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on stainless steel and other M-grade workpiece materials. The insert carries an ISO designation of CPMT 09 T3 08-MM 2015 and features a multilayer TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN coating applied over a carbide substrate. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code C) provides two cutting edges and is suited to profiling and light-to-medium finishing passes. The MM chip breaker geometry is optimized for stainless steel applications where controlled chip formation and surface finish are critical. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC turning professionals.
This insert fits screw-held toolholders with a CPMT-style pocket in the CoroTurn 111 system. It is intended for turning stainless steel components in production environments where consistent chip control and dimensional accuracy are required. The neutral hand orientation and 11-degree relief angle make it compatible with standard CPMT-pocket toolholders operating on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The MM chip breaker designation targets low-to-medium feed rates typical in finishing and semi-finishing of stainless and heat-resistant alloys.
Designed for use in CPMT-style screw-held toolholder pockets within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 111 turning system. Suitable for CNC and manual lathes where CPMT 09 T3 insert seats are specified.
Turning insert replacement is performed by machinists or CNC service technicians on lathes that have been powered down and brought to a complete stop before any tooling work begins. Always confirm the insert pocket is free of chips and debris before seating the insert, and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer-specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the cutting edge and corner radius for integrity before resuming cutting operations. Dispose of worn carbide inserts in accordance with local regulations for metallic carbide waste.
