The SANDVIK COROMANT 5725089 is a ceramic turning insert with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process, designed for high-speed machining of hard and difficult-to-cut materials. Carrying the CNGA432T0625 designation in the T-Max P series, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 0.0313-inch corner radius. With 4 cutting edges per insert and a clearance code of N, it delivers consistent performance in turning applications where heat resistance and edge wear are primary concerns. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job shop environments are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for turning hard workpiece materials (ISO material group H) in both roughing and finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The T-Max P series is engineered for demanding turning applications where ceramic tooling outperforms carbide in terms of thermal stability and surface speed capability. The CNGA style, combined with the A chip breaker geometry, makes this insert a fit for interrupted and continuous cuts in hardened steels and similar hard materials. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series toolholders that accept CNGA-style inserts with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle. ISO designation CNGA 12 04 08T01525 6050 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder seats.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before indexing or replacing inserts, confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion has ceased. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination can cause premature edge failure or insert breakage. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the specific clamp or pin system in use.
