The SANDVIK COROMANT 5724193 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, it features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN applied over a solid carbide substrate in manufacturer grade 1515. The 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C) provides a strong cutting edge geometry suited to finishing and semi-finishing passes. With an inscribed circle of 0.25 inches and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch), this insert is sized for moderate material removal on turning applications. The PM chip breaker geometry is optimized for steel and stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is intended for steel (ISO material code P) as its primary workpiece material and stainless steel (ISO material code M) as its secondary application. It is well suited to finishing and semi-finishing cuts in production turning environments, including automotive, general engineering, and precision machining shops. The screw-holding method provides secure clamping in compatible CCMT toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 0.2224 inches (5.65 mm). Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per order.
Designed for use in CCMT-compatible screw-clamp toolholders within the CoroTurn 107 turning system. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO M). ISO insert code CCMT060208PM1515 can be used for toolholder and replacement cross-reference.
Installation is performed by machining professionals on CNC or manual lathes with compatible CCMT screw-clamp toolholders. Power down and de-energize the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer torque recommendation when seating the clamping screw. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
