The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723957 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Part of the CoroTurn 107 series, this insert carries the ISO designation CCMT 06 02 02-PF 5015 and features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation. The uncoated bright finish and PF chip breaker geometry are engineered for controlled chip evacuation during finishing and semi-finishing passes. With an inscribed circle of 0.250 inches and a corner radius of 0.20 mm, this insert delivers tight tolerances on turned components. It is held in place via screw clamping and delivers two usable cutting edges per insert.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and K. It is used in light finishing to semi-finishing applications where close dimensional control and surface finish quality are priorities. Machinists and CNC operators working in production turning, job shop environments, and precision component manufacturing will find this insert applicable to a wide range of shaft, bore, and facing operations on common ferrous materials.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept CCMT 06 02 02 inserts with screw clamping. Compatible with primary workpiece material Steel (ISO Code P) and secondary workpiece material Cast Iron (ISO Code K). Verify toolholder clearance code C and tolerance code M compliance before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine in a full stop, spindle locked, and all power isolated. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide substrate.
