The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723719 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT21.52-MM 1125 designation, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a dual-layer PVD coating of TiAlN and AlCr2O3, which provides heat resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (Shape Code C), a neutral hand orientation, and an MM chip breaker geometry engineered for controlled chip formation. With a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for light-to-medium roughing and finishing passes. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the CoroTurn 107 series tooling system.
This insert is intended primarily for machining steel (ISO material code P) and is also rated for use on stainless steel (ISO material code M). The CoroTurn 107 series is commonly used in shops running both job-work and production turning on materials in the P and M categories. The screw-holding method provides positive clamping and repeatable indexing, making this insert well suited for automated or high-cycle turning applications where consistent tool life and predictable chip control are priorities. It is a single-insert package sold with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting CCMT-style inserts with a screw-clamp holding method. Primary workpiece compatibility is steel (ISO code P); secondary workpiece compatibility is stainless steel (ISO code M). ISO designation for this insert is CCMT 06 02 08-MM 1125.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw - do not overtighten by hand estimation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and dimensional accuracy.
