The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723687 is a steel-body indexable insert drill designed for high-productivity hole-making in metal cutting applications. Built to the CoroDrill 880 series standard, it accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 3.885 inches at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The drill body is 3.885 inches long with a flute length of 4.319 inches, and it features a straight cylindrical shank with a 1-inch shank diameter. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in machining centers and drill presses for production drilling in steel and similar workpiece materials.
This indexable insert drill is suited for production and job-shop environments where repeatable hole geometry and consistent insert indexing are required. The 3/4-inch maximum drill diameter (0.7697 inches decimal) makes it applicable to a range of bore sizes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Compatible drill style is A880..LXxx-05, which defines the insert pocket geometry and insert size. Two inserts per body allow for center and peripheral cutting zones. Applications include vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and CNC drill presses running right-hand cutting direction operations.
Compatible with drill style A880..LXxx-05 inserts. Designed for use in machining setups requiring a straight cylindrical shank with a 1-inch shank diameter and right-hand cutting direction.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following shop safety and machine lockout procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the drill body. Verify toolholder bore and retention specifications match the 1-inch straight shank before clamping. Connect coolant-through supply lines per machine tool manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut.
