The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723625 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN and AlCr2O3 dual-layer PVD coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The 80-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code C) provides a strong cutting edge with good accessibility for profiling and facing operations. The insert measures 0.365 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, making it well suited for medium-depth finishing and semi-finishing passes. Neutral hand orientation allows flexible toolholder pairing.
This insert is intended for machining steel as its primary workpiece material (ISO material code P) and stainless steel as its secondary application (ISO material code M). The CoroTurn 107 series is widely used in precision turning applications across aerospace, automotive, and general engineering production environments. The MM chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-finishing passes, promoting effective chip control and surface finish on ductile materials. Installation and toolholder selection follow standard ISO indexable insert practices, and the insert is suited for shops running high-volume turning programs where consistent edge life and repeatable geometry are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style indexable replacement insert for CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting CCMT 09 T3 04 geometry inserts. Compatible with standard CCMT screw-clamp toolholders with a 0.1732-inch screw hole diameter. Verify toolholder insert seat tolerance and clearance code C specification before installation.
Indexable turning inserts are installed and replaced by licensed machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or Torx key recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge.
