The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723602 is a CCMT-style carbide turning insert from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Manufactured from solid carbide with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for straight turning without directional limitations. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user for this class of insert.
The 5723602 is rated for stainless steel as its primary workpiece material (ISO material code M), where the TiCN and Al2O3 coating stack provides resistance to built-up edge and crater wear. The MM chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty finishing and semi-finishing passes on austenitic and martensitic stainless grades. It fits into standard CCMT-compatible toolholders with a screw-clamp holding method and is commonly used in aerospace, medical, and general machining applications where tight tolerances on stainless components are required.
Designed for use in CCMT-compatible toolholders utilizing a screw-clamp insert holding method. The ISO designation for this insert is CCMT 09 T3 08-MM 2025. Confirm toolholder pocket specification before ordering.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamp screw and ensure the insert seats fully and evenly in the pocket before applying any cutting load. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris that could affect seating and dimensional accuracy.
