The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723575 is an uncoated solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT21.50-KF H13A designation, part of the CoroTurn 107 series. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a KF chip breaker geometry, and a corner radius of 0.20 mm (0.0079 inches). With a neutral hand orientation and 2 cutting edges, this insert is designed for precision turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC turning specialists working with cast iron and non-ferrous metal workpieces. The H13A uncoated carbide grade delivers consistent edge integrity on these materials without the thermal variability introduced by coated grades.
The 5723575 insert is suited for finishing and light roughing applications on cast iron and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum alloys and brass. The CoroTurn 107 series is designed for internal and external turning with screw-clamped insert holding, making it a common choice for small-diameter boring bars and external toolholders that use the CCMT insert style. The KF chip breaker promotes controlled chip formation at moderate depths of cut and feed rates, reducing chip interference during high-cycle production runs.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders compatible with the CoroTurn 107 series. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron (ISO material code K) and non-ferrous metals (ISO material code N). ISO designation: CCMT 06 02 02-KF H13A.
Installation is performed by machinists using a torx or hex key to seat the insert securely in the toolholder pocket via the screw-clamp method. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Verify the insert pocket and seating surfaces are free of chips and debris before clamping to prevent insert rocking and premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer specifications for proper clamp torque to avoid cracking the carbide substrate.
