The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723493 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT432-MM geometry, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Running a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating, this insert delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting stainless steel and other demanding workpiece materials. It carries an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and an inscribed circle of 1/2 inch. The MM chip breaker geometry manages chip flow during medium machining passes. Manufacturer grade 2035 is the designated substrate and coating combination. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop turning environments.
This insert is primarily intended for turning stainless steel, corresponding to ISO workpiece material code M. The CCMT432-MM 2035 fits standard CCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders using a center hole mounting method. Its neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both standard and back-turning setups. The CoroTurn 107 series provides the toolholder platform for this insert family, making it a direct fit for CoroTurn 107 compatible boring bars and external turning holders designed for CCMT 12 04 08 inserts. ISO designation is CCMT 12 04 08-MM 2035.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting CCMT 12 04 08 inserts with screw-clamp holding. Fits standard CCMT-style external turning and boring holders with the appropriate pocket geometry for an 80-degree diamond insert and C clearance angle. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO code M).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamping screw - do not overtighten or use impact tools on the insert screw. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or damage before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and accurate tool nose positioning.
