The SANDVIK COROMANT 5723290 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, coated with TiAlN via a PVD process for wear resistance and extended tool life in continuous and light interrupted cutting. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius. It measures 0.365 inches in length and 5/32 inch in thickness, with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle diameter. The MF chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage chip flow effectively at light-to-medium feeds. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible CoroTurn 107 toolholders for turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is suited for external turning applications on steel (ISO material group P) and stainless steel (ISO material group M) in both production and job-shop environments. The ISO designation for this insert is CCMT 09 T3 04-MF 1105. The 1105 grade, PVD TiAlN coating, and MF chip breaker combination make it a strong choice for finishing and semi-finishing passes where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required. It is held in the toolholder by a screw-clamp method, consistent with standard CCMT insert toolholder designs.
Designed for use in CoroTurn 107 series CCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders. ISO code CCMT 09 T3 04-MF 1105. Primary workpiece material: Steel (ISO P). Secondary workpiece material: Stainless Steel (ISO M). Insert size code 32.51. Hole diameter 0.1732 inch (4.40 mm) for screw mounting.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket walls before tightening the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for damage or debris before each insert change to ensure secure and accurate seating.
