The SANDVIK COROMANT 5721800 is an indexable boring bar from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for internal boring and turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built from steel with a 1-inch shank diameter and a 12-inch overall length, this right-hand toolholder accepts TCMT 32.52 inserts secured by screw clamping. The minimum bore diameter is 1.2008 inches (30.50 mm), making it suitable for moderate to large bore work. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in continuous cuts. The neutral rake geometry and 0-degree lead angle provide predictable, stable cutting performance across a range of materials.
This boring bar is used in production and job-shop turning applications where consistent bore geometry and insert repeatability are required. It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes on internal diameters starting at 1.2008 inches. The A-STFC toolholder style supports multi-use configurations, allowing the same bar to be used for boring and turning setups without changing the holder. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in shops running steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials on engine lathes or CNC turning centers.
Designed for use with TCMT 32.52 inserts (1/4-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch thickness). Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series. Verify insert grade and geometry selection against workpiece material requirements before use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank in the turret or boring bar holder to the tool manufacturers recommended clamping torque using calibrated tooling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or changing the toolholder. Confirm insert seating and screw torque prior to taking any cut; a loose insert under load is a safety hazard and will damage the pocket.
