The SANDVIK COROMANT 5721799 is a steel-bodied indexable boring bar in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 1 inch shank diameter, a minimum bore diameter of 1.2008 inches, and an overall length of 12 inches. The left-hand cut orientation and -1 degree lead angle suit specific approach and clearance requirements in bore finishing and semi-finishing applications. Insert retention is handled by a screw-clamp holding method, and the tool is coolant-through capable, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in deeper bore applications. A neutral rake angle of 0 degrees pairs with TCMT 16 T3 08 inserts.
This boring bar is intended for machinists and tooling specialists performing internal diameter turning in production or job-shop environments. It fits applications where a left-hand holder is required due to spindle rotation, tool path direction, or interference constraints. The CoroTurn 107 series is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The coolant-through design makes it well suited for blind bore work where flushing chips from the cutting zone is critical to surface finish and insert life.
Designed to accept TCMT 16 T3 08 inserts as specified for the CoroTurn 107 series. Compatible with standard 1 inch round-shank boring bar holders and CNC turning center tooling blocks accepting that shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before mounting or adjusting the boring bar. Confirm shank clamping torque and insert screw torque per the toolholder manufacturer documentation provided with the assembly. Verify bore clearance against the 1.2008 inch minimum bore diameter before entry to prevent interference damage to the insert or workpiece.
