The SANDVIK COROMANT 5721683 is an indexable boring bar from the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for internal turning, profiling, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The bar features a 3/4 inch shank diameter and a 10 inch overall length, with a minimum bore diameter of 1.0512 inches (26.70 mm). It uses a single DCMT 32.52 insert held by screw clamping, providing secure, repeatable cutting edge location. The neutral rake geometry with 0-degree lead and rake angles makes it well suited for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters are the typical end users for this toolholder.
This boring bar is intended for internal diameter machining applications including boring, profiling, and turning on production and job-shop lathes. The A-SDUC toolholder style supports right-hand cutting with the DCMT 32.52 insert family. Coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone, helping to control heat and chip evacuation in deep-bore or tight-tolerance operations. The tool accommodates a center-to-cutting-edge dimension of 0.6250 inches (15.88 mm), relevant when setting tool offsets in the machine control.
Compatible with DCMT 32.52 series inserts. The insert inscribed circle measures 3/8 inch (0.3750 inches, 9.53 mm) with an insert thickness of 5/32 inch (0.1563 inches). Designed as an OEM-style toolholder for use in CNC lathes and turning centers accepting a 3/4 inch round shank boring bar.
Installation and tool setting should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tool setter. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or adjusting the toolholder. Ensure the shank is fully supported in the boring bar holder to the recommended minimum clamping length to prevent deflection and chatter. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling system guidelines for torque when securing the screw clamp and toolholder set screws.
