The SALISBURY as2000hat-pp is an arc flash hood designed to protect electrical workers from arc flash hazards rated at an ATPV of 20 calories per square centimeter. The clear faceshield uses nanotechnology to deliver improved transparency, better color recognition, and reduced visual distortion through a double curved lens. A frameless design expands the viewing area by over 20 percent compared to standard hoods. The weight-balancing frame reduces neck strain during extended wear, making it practical for longer service intervals. This hood is specified and worn by licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on energized equipment where arc flash PPE is required under NFPA 70E.
The as2000hat-pp is suited for commercial and industrial electrical maintenance tasks where arc-rated PPE at the 20 cal/sq cm level is required. Typical applications include work on motor control centers, switchgear, panel boards, and other energized electrical equipment. The vented design supports extended use in environments where ambient lighting may be limited. It is appropriate wherever NFPA 70E or applicable workplace safety standards mandate arc flash protection at or within this calorie rating.

This hood is donned and removed by qualified electrical workers before and after work on energized equipment. Always de-energize and verify absence of voltage where safe and feasible before beginning work. When energized work is authorized, ensure the full arc flash PPE ensemble meets or exceeds the incident energy level determined by the arc flash hazard analysis. Inspect the faceshield for cracks, deep scratches, or damage before each use and remove from service if compromised.
