The RWC UR24735 is a 1/2-inch forged brass slip ball valve that uses SharkBite push-to-connect technology for fast, tool-free installation. The slip design allows up to 2 inches of rigid copper or CPVC pipe to be removed from an existing line and reconnected by sliding the fitting back along the pipe using a standard SharkBite disconnect tool. This valve is well-suited for emergency repairs, freeze damage recovery, and service work in confined spaces where soldering or threading is not practical. Licensed plumbers and experienced trades professionals typically install this fitting in residential and light commercial potable water systems.
The UR24735 is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a shutoff point needs to be added or restored quickly. Its slip feature makes it particularly effective for inline repairs on rigid copper or CPVC pipe runs without requiring access to both pipe ends simultaneously. The push-fit connection eliminates the need for flux, solder, clamps, or unions, reducing installation time and the risk of connection errors. It is a practical valve to stock for freeze-season emergency service calls and tight-clearance retrofit work.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch rigid copper or CPVC pipe in residential and light commercial potable water systems using SharkBite push-fit connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and fully depressurize and drain the affected line before cutting into the pipe. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and free of debris before engaging the push-fit connections. Use the SharkBite disconnect tool to reposition the slip fitting — do not force the fitting by hand without the tool.
