The RWC UIP4020A is a 1-inch CTS x PVC brass push-to-connect transition coupling from the SharkBite line, designed to connect iron pipe size PVC pipe to copper tube size copper, PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT pipe without soldering, glue, or specialty tools. The white collar accepts Schedule 40, 80, and 120 PVC as well as Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 CPVC on the PVC side, while the SharkBite connector end accepts PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT. The fitting is constructed for potable water distribution and is corrosion resistant for extended service life. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling in residential and commercial water distribution systems where a tool-free, code-compliant transition between pipe materials is required.
This fitting is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing applications where a transition from IPS-sized PVC to CTS-sized tubing is needed. It is certified for underground installation and behind-the-wall use without access panels, making it appropriate for concealed rough-in work. The push-to-connect design allows the fitting to be rotated on the pipe after installation, which simplifies work in confined or tight spaces. A disconnect clip is included, allowing the fitting to be released from the pipe if installation adjustments are needed.
Designed for use with 1-inch IPS Schedule 40, 80, and 120 PVC pipe and Schedule 40 and 80 CPVC on the PVC side, and 1-inch CTS copper, PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT tubing on the push-to-connect side. Suitable for potable water distribution systems in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, UPC, and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or releasing any connections. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and clean before inserting into the fitting. Use the included disconnect clip to release the fitting from the pipe if repositioning is required.
