The RWC UIP4016A is a 3/4-inch CTS x PVC brass push-to-connect transition coupling from the SharkBite product line. It connects iron pipe size PVC pipe to copper tube size copper, PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT tubing without soldering, glue, unions, or special tools. The white collar accommodates Schedule 40, 80, and 120 PVC pipe as well as Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 CPVC. The SharkBite push-to-connect end accepts PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT. Built from brass and rated for potable water distribution, this fitting is corrosion resistant and designed to perform in both accessible and concealed installations. A disconnect clip is included for removal and reinstallation flexibility.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a transition between PVC supply piping and flexible or copper tubing is required. Typical scenarios include transitions at water heater connections, under-slab conversions, or remodel work where existing PVC must meet new copper or PEX runs. Its ability to rotate on the pipe after installation makes it practical in tight or confined spaces where alignment adjustments are common. Licensed plumbers and experienced plumbing contractors are the primary installers for this type of transition fitting.
Designed to transition 3/4-inch iron pipe size PVC pipe (Schedule 40, 80, and 120) to 3/4-inch copper tube size copper, PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT tubing. Listed by IAPMO and certified to NSF/ANSI 61, NSF/ANSI 14, and NSF/ANSI 372. Meets UPC, IPC, and cUPC requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or UPC code requirements for the jurisdiction. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or removing connections. Ensure pipe ends are cut clean and square, deburred, and wiped free of debris before insertion into the fitting. Use the included disconnect clip and a SharkBite disconnect tong or equivalent tool if the fitting needs to be removed after installation.
