The RWC UC607LFA is a male sweat by PEX barb adapter fitting designed to transition from a soldered copper connection to PEX tubing. Constructed from lead-free DZR brass, this adapter is built for reliable, long-term use in pressurized water systems. The sweat end accepts a standard 1/2-inch copper fitting connection, while the 1/2-inch barb end works with either a stainless steel clamp system or a copper crimp ring system, each sold separately. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where copper and PEX systems meet.
The UC607LFA is suitable for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications in both residential and light commercial settings. It is a straightforward, low-cost solution for connecting existing copper sweat piping to a PEX tubing run. The barb design is compatible with standard 1/2-inch PEX tubing secured by either a stainless steel clamp or copper crimp ring. This fitting is sold individually and is compliant with ASTM F1807, NSF/ANSI 61, and NSF 372 standards, making it appropriate for use in systems carrying drinking water.
Rated for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. Compatible with standard 1/2-inch PEX tubing using either a stainless steel clamp system or a copper crimp ring system, each sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. Sweat the male end to the copper fitting using appropriate flux and solder before securing the PEX tubing with the clamp or crimp tool. Do not over-crimp or over-clamp the barb connection, as this can damage the tubing and compromise the seal.
