The RWC UC512LFA is a 3/8-inch barb brass PEX test plug designed to cap off an open PEX tubing line during pressure testing or system commissioning. Built from brass with a barb-style end, this plug seats into the end of PEX tubing and is secured using either a stainless steel clamp system or a copper crimp ring system. It carries NSF/ANSI 61 certification for potable water contact and NSF 372 compliance for lead-free content, making it appropriate for drinking water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of rough-in pressure testing or to temporarily or permanently terminate a branch line.
This plug is rated for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. It is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where PEX tubing is the primary pipe material. The barb connection works with both stainless steel clamp rings and copper crimp rings, giving installers flexibility based on the tooling already on the job. Clamp and crimp systems are each sold separately. The fitting is sold individually and is sized for 3/8-inch PEX tubing.
Rated for use in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems using PEX tubing. Compatible with stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems meeting ASTM F1807 standards. Clamp and crimp rings are sold separately.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using a PEX clamp tool or PEX crimp tool appropriate for the ring system in use. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing or removing any PEX fitting. Ensure the barb is fully seated in the tubing before applying the clamp or crimp ring. Follow local plumbing code requirements, including IPC provisions, for pressure testing PEX systems.
