The RWC UC408LFA is a reducing PEX barb tee fitting manufactured in brass, designed for use in PEX piping systems where a change in pipe size is needed at a branch connection. The fitting accepts standard PEX barb connections and is sold individually. It measures 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch across its three ports, allowing a 3/4-inch run or branch to transition down to 1/2-inch lines. Weighing 0.109 pounds, this fitting is suited for both potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. It meets ASTM F1807, NSF/ANSI 61, and NSF 372 certification requirements, confirming it is safe for drinking water contact and lead-free compliance.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating installations where PEX tubing is the pipe material of choice. It is well suited for branch-off scenarios in domestic hot and cold water distribution systems, radiant floor heating loops, and baseboard heating circuits. The UC408LFA works with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems, giving installers flexibility depending on the tooling on hand. Clamp rings and crimp rings are sold separately.
Designed for use with PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. Compatible with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems conforming to ASTM F1807. Clamp rings and crimp rings are sold separately.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters working with PEX piping systems. Shut off water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use a dedicated PEX clamp or crimp tool calibrated for the ring type being used to ensure a leak-free connection. Follow local plumbing code requirements, which commonly reference IPC or UPC standards for PEX barb fitting installations.
