The RWC UC4016LFA is a 3/4-inch crimp transition coupling designed to connect PEX tubing to Polybutylene pipe in potable water and hydronic heating systems. Constructed from lead-free DZR brass, it meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372 standards for safe use in drinking water applications. The fitting ships with two color-coordinated crimp rings: a black crimp ring sized for PEX tubing and a copper-colored crimp ring sized for Polybutylene pipe, eliminating guesswork during installation. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters rely on this fitting when transitioning between two distinct piping materials in residential or light commercial systems.
This coupling is suited for residential water distribution systems where existing Polybutylene pipe must be joined to new PEX tubing runs. It is appropriate for both potable water supply and hydronic heating applications. The 3/4-inch size covers the most common main supply and branch line diameters found in typical residential installations. No soldering or specialized flame equipment is required, making it a practical solution when working in confined or fire-sensitive spaces.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch PEX tubing and 3/4-inch Polybutylene pipe in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. Approved per NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning any work. Use a calibrated PEX crimp tool with the correct jaw size for each crimp ring, and verify each crimp with a go/no-go gauge after completion. Do not overtighten or deform the fitting body during handling, as DZR brass fittings can be damaged by excessive mechanical force.
