The RWC UC334LFA is a SharkBite brass barbed drop ear elbow designed for PEX tubing installations in potable water distribution and radiant heating systems. The fitting features a 1/2 inch crimp-style barb inlet and a 1/2 inch female NPT (FPT) drop ear outlet, allowing direct wall-mount connections to threaded fixtures such as shower valves and tub spouts. Constructed from lead-free DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, the UC334LFA resists corrosion and maintains structural integrity in both hot and cold water service. The barb end accepts copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings. Licensed plumbers and PEX installers specify this fitting where cost-effective, code-compliant connections are required.
The UC334LFA is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution systems using PEX tubing. The drop ear design mounts to wall blocking or framing, holding the FPT port flush and stable for fixture connections. Typical applications include rough-in plumbing for shower arms, tub spouts, and wall-mounted supply stops. The fitting is certified for use in potable water systems and radiant heating loops, making it a versatile choice across new construction and retrofit projects where PEX is the pipe material of choice.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) tubing using copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings per applicable installation standards. Certified for potable water distribution and radiant heating applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before making any connections. Use a calibrated PEX crimping tool or clamp tool appropriate to the ring type — do not substitute tools between copper crimp and stainless clamp systems. The drop ear flange must be secured to solid blocking or backing before connecting the threaded fixture to prevent stress on the fitting body.
