The RWC UC274LFA is a reducing 90-degree PEX barb elbow manufactured from lead-free DZR brass. It transitions between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch PEX tubing at a right-angle bend, making it a practical fitting for directional changes in PEX distribution lines. The lead-free DZR brass construction meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372 requirements for potable water contact, and the fitting is rated to ASTM F1807 standards. Plumbers and hydronic heating technicians install this fitting using either a stainless steel clamp system or a copper crimp ring system, with the appropriate installation tool applied to the ring or clamp to secure the connection.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems as well as hydronic heating applications. It is designed for use anywhere a 90-degree directional change is needed between a 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch PEX line, such as at branch takeoffs, manifold runs, or near-fixture routing. The barb-style connection is compatible with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems. Clamp rings and crimp rings are each sold separately.
Compatible with PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. Accepts standard stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems per ASTM F1807. Clamp and crimp tools, rings, and clamps are sold separately.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified trades using a PEX clamp tool or PEX crimp tool suited to the selected ring type. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting and fitting. Ensure the PEX tubing is fully seated past the barbs before applying the ring or clamp. Follow local plumbing code requirements, which typically reference IPC or IRC standards for PEX installations.
