The RWC UC246LFA is a 3/8-inch by 3/8-inch barb 90-degree PEX elbow fitting manufactured from lead-free DZR brass. It is designed to connect PEX tubing at a right angle in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems. The fitting meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372 certification requirements, making it suitable for potable water contact. Its barb-style connection works with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems, with clamp or crimp tools sold separately. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of PEX distribution runs where a 90-degree direction change is required.
The UC246LFA is suited for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. It is commonly installed in residential water supply systems, radiant floor heating loops, and other closed-loop hydronic circuits where PEX tubing is the primary pipe material. The fitting ships individually and is sold in a minimum quantity of 6 units per order. Its low-profile barb design makes it straightforward to install in tight spaces within wall cavities, mechanical rooms, or under-slab applications.
Rated for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. Compatible with standard 3/8-inch PEX tubing used in stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems per ASTM F1807.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using a compatible PEX clamp ring tool or crimp ring tool. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before making connections. Ensure the PEX tubing is cut cleanly and seated fully past the barb before applying the ring. Follow local plumbing code requirements, which typically reference IPC or IRC standards for PEX installations.
