The RWC UC140LFA is a 1-inch crimp-fit (CF) by 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT) PEX barb adapter manufactured from lead-free DZR brass. It connects PEX tubing to a male NPT threaded fitting on the opposing end. The barb end is compatible with both stainless steel clamp systems and copper crimp ring systems, each sold separately. This adapter is suited for potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. Installation is straightforward and requires no soldering or open flame. A licensed plumber is the typical installer, though the fitting is also appropriate for experienced service technicians working within applicable codes.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing where PEX tubing meets threaded pipe connections. Common applications include potable water supply lines, in-floor radiant heating distribution systems, and hydronic baseboard systems. The crimp-fit barb end accepts standard PEX tubing, and the male NPT thread end connects directly to valves, manifolds, or other threaded fittings. Its lead-free DZR brass construction makes it suitable for drinking water systems under NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372 requirements.
Designed for use with standard 1-inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications where a crimp-fit barb to male NPT threaded connection is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before fitting installation. Use a calibrated PEX crimping tool or stainless steel clamp tool to secure the barb connection per the fitting system manufacturer specifications. Do not overtighten the NPT threaded end; apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly.
