The RWC UC088LFA5 is a 3/4-inch barb x 3/4-inch female iron pipe (FIP) threaded adapter designed for PEX tubing connections. Constructed from lead-free DZR brass, this fitting provides a durable, low-cost termination point between PEX tubing and female NPT-threaded pipe or fixtures. The barb end accepts either a stainless steel clamp ring system or a copper crimp ring system, giving installers flexibility based on the tools available on the job. It is approved under ASTM F1807, NSF/ANSI 61, and NSF 372, confirming suitability for potable water contact. Plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in residential and light commercial systems where PEX meets threaded connections.
This adapter is suited for potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications. The barb configuration works with standard 3/4-inch PEX tubing secured by stainless steel clamp rings or copper crimp rings using the appropriate pinch-clamp or ratchet-crimp tool. The FNPT-threaded end connects to standard female-threaded valves, manifolds, or fixture supply lines. It is commonly used in new construction plumbing, remodel work, and radiant heating distribution systems where a transition from PEX to threaded pipe is required.
Compatible with potable water distribution and hydronic heating applications using 3/4-inch PEX tubing. Works with stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems; clamp rings and crimp rings are sold separately.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making any connections. Secure the barb end using the appropriate stainless steel clamp ring or copper crimp ring with a calibrated pinch-clamp or ratchet-crimp tool; do not attempt to seat the barb without the proper ring and tool. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the FNPT threads before making the threaded connection, and hand-tighten before final torque with a wrench.
