The RWC UC088LFA is a 3/4-inch barb by 3/4-inch female iron pipe (FIP) threaded adapter designed to connect PEX tubing to FNPT-threaded fittings or valves. Constructed from lead-free DZR brass, this fitting is built to resist dezincification in potable water systems. The barb end accepts either a stainless steel clamp system or a copper crimp ring system, giving installers flexibility based on their preferred tooling. It is compliant with ASTM F1807, NSF/ANSI 61, and NSF 372, meeting the standards required for drinking water and hydronic heating installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
The UC088LFA is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications, including potable water distribution systems and hydronic radiant heating. It provides a reliable threaded female connection point where PEX tubing meets a threaded component such as a shutoff valve, manifold, or fixture supply. The barb-and-clamp or barb-and-crimp connection method makes it compatible with standard PEX installation workflows without requiring specialty press tooling.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems using stainless steel clamp or copper crimp ring connection methods per ASTM F1807.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Use the appropriate clamp or crimp tool rated for the ring type selected to ensure a leak-free barb connection. Hand-tighten the FIP threaded end onto the mating fitting before applying a wrench, and use thread sealant or PTFE tape on the male threads per local code requirements.
