The RWC UC072LFA is a lead-free DZR brass PEX barb adapter designed to connect PEX tubing to a female iron pipe thread fitting. With a 1/2 inch barb on one end and a 1/2 inch FNPT connection on the other, this fitting provides a reliable, low-profile transition between PEX tubing and threaded plumbing components. It is compatible with both stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems, giving installers flexibility depending on the tools and materials on hand. Certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF 372, it is suitable for potable water service and meets lead-free compliance requirements.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where PEX tubing connects to threaded female outlets, valves, or fixtures. Typical applications include potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. The FNPT end threads directly onto standard female-threaded fittings, while the barb end accepts PEX tubing secured with a crimp ring or clamp ring tool. It is installed by licensed plumbers and experienced plumbing contractors working on new construction or retrofit projects.
Designed for use with PEX tubing in potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems. Compatible with stainless steel clamp ring systems and copper crimp ring systems, each sold separately. Meets ASTM F1807 requirements for PEX barb fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Secure the barb end to PEX tubing using a properly sized crimp ring or clamp ring and the appropriate installation tool. Thread the FNPT end onto the mating female-threaded fitting by hand first, then tighten with a wrench to avoid cross-threading or over-torquing the brass body.
