The RWC U714 is a disconnect clip designed for use with SharkBite push-fit fittings on 1-inch pipe. The clip allows technicians to release push-fit connections without damaging the fitting or the pipe, enabling disassembly and reconnection during repair or modification work. It is a small but essential tool for plumbers working with SharkBite-style push-fit systems in water distribution applications. Compatible pipe materials include copper, CPVC, and PEX tubing. No soldering, gluing, or crimping tools are required for the associated push-fit connections.
The U714 disconnect clip is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where SharkBite push-fit fittings are used on 1-inch water distribution lines. It is particularly useful during service calls where a fitting must be removed and reinstalled without replacing the fitting itself. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters are the primary installers, though the product is also used by knowledgeable DIYers on permitted work.

Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disconnecting any fitting. Insert the disconnect clip around the pipe at the collar of the fitting and push toward the fitting body to release the grab ring, then pull the pipe free. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for pipe joining and water distribution work. This clip does not replace the fitting and should not be used to force a connection that is under pressure.
