The RWC U712 is a disconnect clip designed to release push-to-connect fittings from copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe without damaging the fitting or the pipe. The clip slides over the pipe and into the fitting collar, disengaging the internal grab ring so the pipe can be pulled free. This tool is used during repairs, system modifications, or any situation where a push-fit connection needs to be broken and re-made. It is sized for 3/4 inch pipe and is rated to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both domestic hot water and heating applications. Plumbers and pipefitters keep these on hand as a standard service tool.
The U712 disconnect clip is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems wherever push-to-connect fittings are installed. Typical applications include domestic water distribution, hydronic heating loops, and potable water repairs. The clip works with copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe at the 3/4 inch size, covering the most common distribution pipe diameter found in residential construction. It is a single-use-style tool that allows clean disconnection without cutting out the fitting.
Designed for use with 3/4 inch push-to-connect fittings installed on copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe.
Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disconnecting any fitting. Slide the disconnect clip evenly around the pipe and press firmly into the fitting collar until the grab ring releases, then pull the pipe straight out. Licensed plumbers typically perform fitting work on pressurized potable water systems in accordance with local plumbing codes. Inspect the fitting O-ring and grab ring before re-using a disconnected fitting.
