The RWC 23063LF is a multi-turn straight stop valve designed for use in PEX water distribution systems. It features a barb connection on both ends in a 1/2 inch CF x 1/2 inch CF configuration, allowing direct connection to PEX tubing without soldering, crimping, or special tools. Constructed from DZR brass, the valve resists corrosion and dezincification in potable water service. The multi-turn handle provides precise flow control and a familiar operation for plumbers transitioning from traditional stop valves. NSF-certified for use in drinking water applications, this valve is sold individually and is well-suited for residential and light commercial rough-in and retrofit work.
This valve is used wherever a shutoff is needed on a 1/2 inch PEX line, including under-sink fixture connections, toilet supply lines, and similar branch shutoff points. The barb-style SharkBite connection system is particularly useful in retrofit and remodel situations where access is limited, labor time is a priority, or soldering is not practical. Licensed plumbers and experienced plumbing contractors are the primary installers. It is sold as a single unit.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution systems using the SharkBite barb connection system.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installation. Ensure PEX tubing ends are cut cleanly and squarely before seating onto the barb fittings. Barb connections on PEX systems typically require a stainless steel clamp ring or crimp ring secured with the appropriate tool per the tubing manufacturer's instructions.
