The RWC 22463LFA is a full-port brass ball valve designed for PEX tubing installations using the SharkBite barb connection system. It accepts 1-inch crimp-fit (CF) connections on both ends and delivers unrestricted flow through its full-port design. The valve body is constructed from DZR (dezincification resistant) brass, which resists the corrosion and mineral leaching common in potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and water distribution installers use this valve where a reliable, manually operated shutoff is required in a PEX-based supply line. NSF certification confirms it meets standards for contact with potable water.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution systems where PEX tubing is the primary pipe material. It is typically installed at branch shutoff points, fixture isolation locations, or service connections. The barb connection format makes it compatible with standard PEX crimp tooling and copper crimp rings or stainless steel clamp rings, giving installers flexibility in fastening method. It is appropriate for both hot and cold water supply lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation valve for 1-inch PEX water distribution systems using crimp-fit barb connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use a calibrated PEX crimp tool with the appropriate copper or stainless steel rings to secure the barb connections and verify crimp dimensions with a go/no-go gauge after installation. Do not overtighten or use pipe thread sealants on the barb ends.
