The RWC 22461LFA is a full-port brass barb ball valve designed for use with 1/2-inch PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) tubing in potable water distribution systems. It features a SharkBite barb connection on both ends, providing a secure mechanical connection without soldering or crimping tools. The valve body is constructed from DZR (dezincification resistant) brass, which resists corrosion in chlorinated water environments. This valve is sized at 1/2 inch copper fitting (CF) on both the inlet and outlet. Plumbers and pipefitters install this valve where a reliable, tool-optional shutoff is needed on PEX supply lines in residential and light commercial applications.
This valve is suited for residential water distribution systems where PEX tubing is the primary piping material. Typical installations include fixture shutoffs, branch line isolation, and in-line service valves on cold or hot water supply runs. The barb connection style is commonly selected when lower installed material cost is a priority compared to press or push-fit fittings. This valve is installed by licensed plumbers working under IPC or local plumbing code requirements.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch PEX tubing in potable water distribution systems using the SharkBite barb connection system.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable plumbing code (IPC or local equivalent). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connections. Ensure PEX tubing ends are cut cleanly and squarely before seating into the barb fittings. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of the valve or the PEX tubing used in the assembly.
