The RUUD U97MV1005A21DHSGAP is a modulating natural gas furnace rated at 100,000 BTU/h input with 97% AFUE, designed for residential downflow and horizontal installations. It uses a fully variable-speed ECM blower motor to continuously adjust airflow and heating output from minimum fire up to full capacity, delivering consistent supply temperatures and improved humidity control. A Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) system replaces standing pilots for reliable ignition on every call. The furnace cabinet measures 21 inches wide and supports multi-position configuration, making it suitable for a range of installation orientations. A 7-segment LED diagnostic display is built into the board for rapid fault identification during service calls.
This furnace is intended for residential forced-air heating systems requiring high-efficiency, modulating gas heat. The multi-position configuration supports downflow and horizontal orientations, fitting utility rooms, crawlspace air handlers, and attic or closet installations. At 5 nominal tons of airflow capacity, it pairs with matched cooling coils in split-system applications. EcoNet connectivity allows integration with the EcoNet Smart Thermostat and remote monitoring app, enabling homeowner alerts and contractor diagnostics without an additional gateway device. An exclusive drain sensor automatically shuts down the furnace and generates a diagnostic code when the condensate drain is blocked, reducing water damage risk.
Designed as an OEM modulating gas furnace for residential forced-air systems in downflow or horizontal configuration, compatible with matched EcoNet-enabled thermostats and coil assemblies sized for 5 nominal tons of airflow.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes, the appliance installation manual, and IFGC requirements. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before servicing or making any connections. High-efficiency condensing furnaces produce acidic condensate and require a properly sloped, code-compliant drain line — verify drain routing before startup. ECM motor wiring and low-voltage thermostat connections should be confirmed against the unit wiring diagram attached to the cabinet door before powering up.
