The RUUD rxbh-24a20j-b is an electric heat kit designed for forced-air air handler systems operating on single-phase power. Rated at 20 kW and compatible with 208-240 volt, 60 Hz electrical supply, this kit adds resistance heating capacity to a matched air handler. It includes a Smart Plug connection for simplified, tool-free installation into compatible RUUD and Rheem SEER2 air handler cabinets. Licensed HVAC technicians install this kit as part of a complete comfort system where supplemental or primary electric heat is required.

This heat kit is engineered to fit new SEER2 air handler equipment. It can also be installed on older SEER-rated air handlers using adapter 251E200, sold separately. Typical applications include residential forced-air systems where a heat pump or cooling-only unit requires an electric heat strip for backup or primary heating. The Smart Plug interface reduces field wiring time and supports correct electrical connections at the unit junction.
