The RUUD rcfy4824stanmc is a cased, multi-position evaporator coil rated at 48,000 BTU/h (4 tons) and designed for use with R454B refrigerant. Part of the RCFY series from Rheem Manufacturing, this coil functions as the indoor heat-transfer component in a split-system air conditioning or heat pump setup. It features aluminum tubing construction and an integrated TXV metering device, which provides precise refrigerant flow control across a wide range of operating conditions. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil in residential and light-commercial applications where multi-position flexibility is required.
The rcfy4824stanmc is suited for installations where the air handler or furnace may be oriented in upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations. Its cased enclosure simplifies installation by providing a factory-sealed cabinet ready for duct connection. The unit supports airflow from 600 to 1,900 CFM, making it compatible with a range of blower assemblies. The 3/8-inch liquid line and 7/8-inch suction line connections are standard sizes for 4-ton split systems using R454B refrigerant.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil for 4-ton R454B split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications requiring a multi-position cased coil.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and close the refrigerant service valves before opening the system. Confirm that the condensing unit and air handler are matched for R454B service before making line-set connections. Follow local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions for brazing procedures, leak testing, and evacuation requirements.
