The RUUD rcfy4821stanmc is a multi-position cased evaporator coil designed for use in split-system residential and light commercial cooling applications. This 4-ton coil operates with R454B refrigerant and fits a 21-inch cabinet width, making it compatible with standard-width gas furnace installations. A factory-installed TXV metering device provides precise refrigerant flow control for consistent system performance. At 71 pounds, the unit ships ready for upflow, downflow, horizontal left, or horizontal right airflow configurations. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as the indoor section of a matched split system.
This coil is intended for residential and light commercial gas furnace split systems requiring a standard-efficiency cased indoor coil. It is designed for use with Rheem and Ruud outdoor units and supports a nominal capacity range from 18,000 BTU/h to 60,000 BTU/h. The multi-position design suits new installations and replacement projects where airflow direction may vary. The 21-inch cabinet width fits common residential furnace footprints, and the cased construction simplifies installation by eliminating the need for a separate coil cabinet.
Designed for use with Rheem and Ruud outdoor units. Supports upflow, downflow, horizontal left, and horizontal right airflow configurations. Nominal capacity range is 18,000 BTU/h to 60,000 BTU/h when installed as part of a matched Rheem or Ruud system.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and close the refrigerant service valves before beginning work. The TXV is factory-installed; do not substitute or modify the metering device. Verify airflow direction and cabinet orientation before mounting to avoid rework after the refrigerant circuit is brazed and charged.
