Part of the RUUD M1 series, this unit operates on R454B refrigerant, a lower-GWP alternative now required under current EPA regulations. The condensing unit houses the compressor, condenser coil, and condenser fan, and connects to a matched indoor evaporator coil and air handler to form a complete split cooling system. This condensing unit is suited for residential single-family and light-duty applications where a 3-ton cooling load is appropriate. Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification, as this unit uses R454B refrigerant classified as mildly flammable (A2L). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before any service work on the unit. Refer to local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions for proper line-set sizing, refrigerant charge procedures, and clearance requirements. Do not use R-410A tooling or equipment that has not been verified compatible with A2L refrigerants.
