The RUUD R951V0703A17M4SCAP is a multi-position residential gas furnace rated at 70,000 BTU/h output with 95% AFUE efficiency and an ECM variable-speed blower motor. It operates on natural gas and carries ENERGY STAR certification. The ECM motor continuously adjusts airflow to maintain consistent comfort, reduce sound levels, and lower energy consumption across all operating conditions. A Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) system handles reliable ignition without a standing pilot. This furnace is designed for installation by licensed HVAC technicians in residential applications where high-efficiency heating and flexible duct configurations are required.
This furnace fits multi-position installations, allowing upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations to suit a range of residential system layouts. With a nominal cooling capacity of 3 tons, it pairs with matched air conditioning or heat pump equipment. EcoNet Bluetooth connectivity supports commissioning and diagnostics through the Ruud Contractor App, eliminating the need for DIP switch configuration during final setup. A patented block drain sensor automatically shuts the unit down and triggers a diagnostic alert if the condensate drain becomes obstructed, reducing the risk of water damage and unplanned service calls.
Designed as an OEM multi-position residential gas furnace within the Ruud Endeavor Line Achiever Series, compatible with EcoNet-enabled thermostats and controls. Nominal cooling tonnage of 3 tons for matched system pairing.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any service or installation work. Condensate drain lines must be properly pitched and terminated per local plumbing code to allow the block drain sensor to function correctly. Commissioning is completed via the Ruud Contractor App over Bluetooth, replacing traditional DIP switch configuration.
