The RUUD 70-20602-01 is a 54-blade centrifugal blower wheel designed for use in RUUD and Protech gas furnace systems. It features a concave disc construction with clockwise (CW) rotation and a 1/2-inch bore, measuring 11 7/8 inches in diameter by 10 11/16 inches in width. This wheel moves conditioned air through the heat exchanger and into the distribution duct system during heating and continuous-fan operation. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component as a direct OEM-style replacement when the original wheel shows signs of imbalance, corrosion, blade damage, or excessive vibration that reduces airflow performance.
This blower wheel is specified for a broad range of residential gas furnace model families, including upflow and multi-position configurations covered under the SGDG, RGDG, RGDJ, RGED, RGLG, RGLH, and related RUUD series lines. It is typically installed in the blower compartment of forced-air gas furnaces and is matched to the furnace motor shaft via its 1/2-inch center bore. Proper fitment depends on confirming the diameter, width, bore size, and rotation direction against the unit nameplate before installation.
Designed for use on the following RUUD gas furnace model families: SGDG, RGDG, RGDJ, RGED, RGLG, RGLH, RGLJ, RGLK, RGLN, RGLQ, RGPH, RGPJ, RGPK, RGPN, RGPP, RGPQ, RGRA, RGRC, RGRJ, RGRK, RGSA, RGTA, RGTC, RGTJ, RGTK, RGVG, RGVH, RGVJ, ROBD, ROBF, ROPD, ROPF, 80BD, 80BF, 80LJ, 80LS, 80PF, 80PJ, 80PS, 90RJ, 90RS, 90TJ.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off all power to the furnace at the disconnect and set the thermostat to the off position before accessing the blower compartment. Confirm rotation direction, bore size, wheel diameter, and wheel width match the original component and unit nameplate data before mounting. Secure the wheel to the motor shaft according to the furnace manufacturer service documentation and verify the assembly is clear of the housing before restoring power.
