The RUUD 62-23543-06 is an OEM flame sensor designed for use in gas furnaces. The sensor monitors the burner flame during each ignition cycle. When the flame is detected, the sensor sends a signal to the control board to shut off the igniter, preventing unnecessary spark activity and protecting the system from unburned gas accumulation. At 2.375 inches from mounting flange to sensor tip with a 1.219-inch offset and a 90-degree sensor angle, it is a direct-fit replacement for the original factory part. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians.
This flame sensor is used in residential gas furnaces where the OEM part requires replacement due to carbon buildup, sensor failure, or routine service. The 90-degree offset angle and 0.25-inch male quick-connect termination match the original factory configuration, allowing direct installation without modification. Technicians servicing RUUD furnaces will find this sensor fits the original mounting bracket and wiring harness connector as a drop-in replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement flame sensor for use with RUUD gas furnaces. Refer to your equipment model and service documentation to confirm fitment before installation.
Flame sensor replacement is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off power to the furnace at the disconnect switch and turn off the gas supply before beginning any service work. The sensor mounts to the burner assembly bracket and connects to the low-voltage control circuit via the quick-connect terminal. Inspect the sensor rod for carbon deposits during routine maintenance, as buildup is the most common cause of nuisance lockouts.
