The RUUD 60-103901-01 is a single-stage natural gas valve designed for residential and light-commercial gas furnace applications. Rated at 140,000 BTU/h, it supports both hot surface ignition (HSI) and direct spark ignition (DSI) systems. The valve uses a 1/2-inch inlet connection and controls gas flow in response to ignition control signals during the heating cycle. It is sized at 4.75 inches x 2.375 inches x 4.25 inches and weighs 1.89 pounds. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component during furnace service calls and warranty repairs on compatible RUUD and Protech-branded gas furnace systems.
This gas valve fits a wide range of RUUD gas furnace model families including single-stage 80 percent and 90 percent AFUE units. It is used in both upflow and horizontal furnace configurations and is the appropriate OEM-specified replacement for failed or leaking valves in the field. The part is compatible with a broad range of RUUD furnace lines covering residential retrofit and new-equipment service scenarios. Refer to the compatibility list below for confirmed model family fitment.
Confirmed for use on RUUD gas furnace model families: RGLH, RGRA, RGRJ, RGTA, RGTJ, 90RJ, 90TJ, RGPS, RKMA, RGRB, 90RS, 90RT, 90TS, RGEA13, RGEA14, RGEA15(AT), RGLS, RKNL-A, RKPL-A, RKPN-A, SGPN, SKKL-B, RGRC, RGTC, RGRS, RGRT, RGTS, R92PA, R92TA, R95PA, R95TA, R95TB, R95TC, RGDG, and SGDG gas furnaces.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in compliance with local mechanical codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Before servicing, shut off the manual gas supply at the appliance service valve and disconnect power at the breaker or disconnect switch. Verify the replacement valve matches the gas type and inlet size of the original before installing, and leak-test all fittings with an approved gas leak detection solution after completing the installation. Do not power up the furnace until the gas supply is confirmed leak-free and all wiring is reconnected per the unit wiring diagram.
