The RUUD 51-102994-02 is a direct-drive blower motor designed for residential gas furnace applications. Rated at 1/2 HP and 120 volts AC, 60 Hz, single-phase, it delivers 1075 RPM at high speed across three selectable speed taps. Full-load amperage is 6.3 amps with a locked-rotor amperage of 12.9 amps. The motor uses a 48 frame, sleeve bearings, and counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation when viewed from the output shaft end. Shell-band and shell-screw mounting configurations are supported. A 7.5 MFD run capacitor at 370 volts is required for operation. Licensed HVAC technicians install this motor as a factory-style replacement in gas furnace air handler sections.
This motor is used in residential gas furnace systems where a direct-drive blower assembly is required. It fits the RUUD RGRJ, RGTJ, RGRS, RGRT, RGTS, 90RJ, 90RS, 90RT, 90TJ, and 90TS gas furnace product families. The indoor-rated design is appropriate for furnace cabinet installation in conditioned or semi-conditioned mechanical spaces. Three speed taps allow the installer to set airflow to match system design requirements for heating and cooling modes.
Designed for use in RUUD RGRJ, RGTJ, RGRS, RGRT, RGTS, 90RJ, 90RS, 90RT, 90TJ, and 90TS gas furnace models as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the furnace before removing the existing motor or handling wiring connections. Verify rotation direction and speed tap wiring against the furnace wiring diagram before energizing. The run capacitor must be matched to the 7.5 MFD at 370V specification; do not substitute a capacitor outside this rating.
