The RUUD 42-101955-08 is a single-port, single-pole single-throw (SPST) pressure switch assembly designed for gas furnace draft-proving circuits. Rated at 24 volts AC and 1 amp, it operates at a 0.25 inches water column set point to verify proper inducer draft before allowing ignition to proceed. The assembly mounts in the furnace control cavity and connects to the inducer housing via a pressure sensing port. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component as part of routine safety-control maintenance or when diagnosing a furnace lockout caused by a failed or out-of-spec pressure switch.
This pressure switch assembly is specified for use on the RUUD RGRC07MAE gas furnace. It is suited to residential forced-air gas heating systems where draft-proving is handled by a single-port pressure switch. Typical installation occurs during a service call where the inducer or venting system has been inspected and the switch itself is confirmed faulty through manometer testing.
Designed as a direct OEM replacement for the RUUD RGRC07MAE gas furnace.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off power to the furnace at the disconnect and turn off the gas supply before beginning any service work. Inspect the pressure tubing and inducer port for blockages or cracks before connecting the new switch, as venting issues can cause repeated switch failures. Work should comply with applicable local mechanical codes and the furnace manufacturer's service instructions.
