The RUST-OLEUM S6502410 is a high-build, high-gloss, 100 percent solids epoxy floor coating engineered for industrial and commercial concrete surfaces subject to heavy use. Part of the Rust-Oleum Concrete Saver 6500 System, this single-gallon base component delivers a durable, chemical-resistant film that protects against abrasion, impact, rubber-tired vehicle traffic, and intermittent chemical splashes. It is a two-component product sold as the base color unit, requiring a separately purchased activator before application. Low odor and VOC-compliant nationwide at under 100 g/l, it also meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities.
This coating is intended for new, old, bare, or previously coated concrete floors in industrial and commercial settings. Typical applications include warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and laboratory floors where heavy foot traffic, rubber-tired forklifts or pallet jacks, and occasional chemical spills are routine. The high-build film builds significant coating thickness per coat, reducing maintenance cycles and extending service life on high-traffic slabs.
Designed for use on new, old, bare, or previously coated concrete floors. The manufacturer suggests use with the 108 Cleaning Etching Solution for surface preparation and Decorative Vinyl Chips for aesthetic finish options. This is a base color component of the 6500 System — an activator must be ordered separately to complete the two-component system.
Application is typically performed by industrial coating contractors or experienced maintenance personnel familiar with two-component epoxy systems. Concrete surfaces must be clean, dry, and properly profiled before coating — surface preparation with an etching solution or mechanical grinding is standard practice. Always shut down traffic in the work area for the full cure period before resuming use. Follow all local VOC regulations and ventilation requirements during mixing and application.
