The RUST-OLEUM AS5479402 is a single-component anti-slip epoxy floor coating designed to protect pedestrian-grade concrete and metal surfaces with a coarse, textured finish. Part of the AS5400 System, this one-step formula delivers a dry film thickness (DFT) of 20 mils and a coefficient of friction of 1.17 dry and 1.00 wet, meeting the threshold for aggressive traction in moderate industrial environments. It is suitable for interior and exterior applications and is installed by flooring contractors, maintenance crews, and facility technicians. The coating meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities.
This coating is formulated for use on concrete or metal floors, stairs, entranceways, and similar pedestrian-grade surfaces in moderate industrial, commercial, and institutional settings. It is appropriate for areas subject to foot traffic, occasional moisture, mild chemical exposure, and periodic steam or chemical cleaning. A reseal coat can be applied to areas requiring additional chemical resistance. Its interior and exterior suitability makes it a practical choice for loading docks, food processing areas, locker rooms, and maintenance corridors.
Designed for application on concrete and metal floors, stairs, and entranceways in interior and exterior moderate industrial environments.
Application should be performed by qualified flooring or maintenance technicians following the manufacturer's surface preparation guidelines. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of oils, grease, and existing coatings that may inhibit adhesion. Mix contents thoroughly with a mechanical mixer before application, and apply using a phenolic core roller for best results. Allow the coating to cure fully before returning the area to service; heavy traffic should be withheld for at least 24 hours.
