The RUST-OLEUM 9409408 is a two-component, high-gloss polyester urethane topcoat engineered for maximum corrosion resistance in severe service environments. This 1-gallon unit is Part A of a two-part system and must be combined with a separately ordered activator before application. It delivers extremely high color and gloss retention while resisting impact, abrasion, and aggressive chemicals including muriatic acid. Licensed applicators and industrial painters rely on it for protective coating work on assets exposed to coastal, offshore, or chemically aggressive conditions. The cured film meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact and is accepted for use in federally registered Canadian food facilities.
The 9409408 topcoat is suited for application over properly primed vehicles, structural steel, storage tanks, and similar substrates operating in severe coastal, offshore, or chemically aggressive environments. It is designed to work within the 9400 System alongside 9400 System Primers, 9400 System Accelerator, and 9400 System Leveling Additive. Industrial painters, maintenance coating crews, and facility maintenance professionals are the primary installers. The two-year rust-proof performance guarantee makes it a strong choice for infrastructure and heavy equipment requiring long service intervals between recoats.
Designed for use within the RUST-OLEUM 9400 System; recommended for use with 9400 System Primers, 9400 System Accelerator, and 9400 System Leveling Additive. Activator must be ordered separately.
This is a two-component product — do not apply without first combining with the appropriate 9400 System activator per manufacturer mixing instructions. Surface preparation is critical; apply only over properly primed and prepared substrates. Follow all applicable local safety codes and ventilation requirements when working with two-component polyurethane coatings in enclosed spaces. Use appropriate respiratory protection and chemical-resistant gloves during mixing and application.
